Join us at Wainuiomata Regional Park for a free screening of Paddington and a fun day out!

Wainuiomata Regional Park is one of our most popular parks in the region, so why not come along in the morning to explore all that’s on offer! Start off your day with a stroll along the picturesque Gums Loop or check out the fairy forest set up by some of Wainui’s community. We’ll also have fairy door decorating, rock painting and a treasure hunt to keep your littles ones entertained!

From 12pm we will be screening Paddington (2014). After a deadly earthquake destroys his home in Peruvian rainforest, a young bear with a passion for all things British travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined--until he meets the kind Brown family, who read the label around his neck ('Please look after this bear. Thank you.') and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of museum taxidermist Millicent Clyde.

This is not a drive-in movie, so for a memorable and comfy outdoor movie, bring fold-up chairs, outdoor pillows and blankets. Don’t forget to pack a picnic and your togs and cool off in one of the clean and fresh swimming holes along the way, or visit one of the tasty food trucks – make sure you bring cash!
